How to plant bulbs correctly
Gardeners recommend planting bulbs in autumn, when the soil is still warm but no longer hot. Use the bulb planter to make a hole, place the bulb with the pointed end facing up and cover it with loose soil.
- Tulips and daffodils – plant at 2–3 times the bulb height
- Crocuses – plant shallower in lighter soil
- Hyacinths – plant slightly deeper; add a thin layer of sand for drainage in heavy soil
- Gently firm the soil and water after planting
